Import profiles

Do you have customer profiles in your CRM or other databases that you want to use in Parallel? In addition to manually creating profiles or generating them from parallels, you can now easily import existing profiles from an Excel file 🎉.

Where to start

Go to the “Profiles” section, click the dropdown menu, and select “Import from Excel.”

Prepare your file

Before uploading anything, download the loading model.

This .xlsx file serves as a guide and shows how your data should be organized to ensure a successful import.

In the file, you’ll see a tab called “Instructions.” Read it carefully 👁️. It explains how dates and phone numbers should be formatted, and which columns have a restricted format (i.e., they only accept specific values). You’ll also see which values are allowed for each field.

Upload your Excel file

Once your file is ready, you can drag and drop it or select it from your computer in the import window.

Upload failed?

⚠️ If you get an error message when uploading the file, it may be due to:

  • Invalid values in columns with restricted formats. Go back to the Excel file and review the instructions.

  • Missing required fields. Make sure all the fields marked as required when creating a profile manually are filled in your Excel import file. For example, if you're importing Company profiles, the “Entity name” field is strictly mandatory.
