Yes, you can sign a document that wasn’t created in Parallel.

When setting up the eSignature process, you have two options:

  1. Sign a document generated from Parallel responses – This option is recommended for all processes created in Parallel that involve interaction with the recipient.

  2. Upload and sign an external PDF – If you already have a document (like a contract or agreement) created outside of Parallel, you can upload it and send it for signature through our platform. For this, you have to select the option "I will upload a document when launching the signature".

💡 Please note:

  • You won’t be able to insert any Parallel responses into the uploaded document.

  • Once signed, the document cannot be modified. If you need to make changes, you must upload a new version and restart the signature process.

For more information on signatures, please read the article How to enable the eSignature.
